Madrid, 8 May 2024.- Abarca Seguros has informed of the change of its name to Azuaga Seguros, with this step it begins the process of becoming part of the companies that make up Corporación Financiera Azuaga.
Abarca Seguros was created in 2016 as an insurer specialising in surety bond in Portugal. In 2018 it set up a branch in Spain. It currently has offices in Lisbon, Seville and Madrid. It is the only surety insurer with a double investment grade rating, having obtained a B+ Good and BBB- rating from international rating agencies. The insurer has supported more than 9,000 projects and has more than 5,000 clients.
From Abarca Seguros to Azuaga Seguros
Abarca Seguros has a history of growth linked to its shareholding and the specialisation of its team of professionals. They were pioneers in the implementation of surety bond in Portugal and in the technical inspection of insured projects. In 2020, the shareholders of Abarca Seguros formed a financial group, Corporación Financiera Azuaga. This group is made up of companies, with independent management, specialised in financial and investment services, and also acts as an investment company.
After more than eight years of experience, the insurer has decided to transform itself in order to be able to offer surety bond services to more clients and specialise in new modalities. Vanesa Carro, Managing Director for Spain says ‘It is the right time to transform ourselves, become bigger and provide the best service to our clients’. The objective of AZUAGA SEGUROS is to be the leader in surety bond in the Iberian Peninsula.
The companies that make up the Corporation seek to provide companies with financial solutions adapted to their needs, to support their activity and accompany their growth, through a wide range of solutions for companies.
Within Corporación Financiera Azuaga are integrated Anta Asset Management, an investment fund manager, Castelo Capital, a financial entity specialised in guarantees and loans. And now it has been decided to integrate Azuaga Seguros, complementing the services they can provide to companies with surety bond.
